The Las Vegas-based Tyler Robinson Foundation has kept very busy during quarantine times.

Founded by Grammy Award-winning hometown rock band Imagine Dragons, the nonprofit organization supports families dealing with pediatric cancer. TRF launched an online donation campaign on March 18 to increase emergency funds during the coronavirus crisis and throughout the month using special messages from band members as well as stories from families to enhance awareness about the increased risk faced by these families at this time.

“These families are especially vulnerable right now,” said frontman Dan Reynolds in his video message. “if you have the means or resources to contribute, please do.”

Pediatric cancer patients are already extremely susceptible to contagious viruses, so while social distancing is critical, it also places an additional burden on the families caring for them. If one of these households is suddenly without income, the strain can become overwhelming. Emergency fund donations are accepted at

TRF also announced this week that tickets are on sale for its seventh annual Rise Up Gala, set for August 29 at Wynn Las Vegas. Actor and comedian Joel McHale will once again serve as host of the one-night-only fundraising event, and Imagine Dragons will perform an acoustic set among other entertainment. The 2019 gala raised more than $3.2 million for the foundation’s mission, and individual tickets and corporate sponsorships are available for this year’s event. Ticket info can be found here.

This Monday, April 13, the National Esport Association will host Eggstravaganza, “the largest online Minecraft Egg Hunt ever,” from 10 a.m. until noon Pacific time benefitting nonprofits around the world including TRF. In a social distancing-friendly version of the Easter tradition, children from around the globe will race to find as many eggs as they can within the online world of Minecraft, featuring live gameplay, online challenges and special surprises along the way.

Guests interested in participating on behalf of TRF can register online here. Individuals can register for $10 and a family four-pack registration is $20.
